OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide a vibrant forum for quality education, with a scientific temper, adaptive to the changing needs to time, to ensure all round development of the child and to expose him/her to a wide spectrum of co-curricular learning which is essential to make the child confident and ready to step out in today’s challenging world.

The school garners the best values from the Indian tradition and other world cultures. The children are exposed to the rich Indian cultural and spiritual heritage, creating a genuine respect for their country. At the same time exposure to the world heritage engenders in them  a spirit of openness, receptivity and tolerance as was done with the School Link and Teachers Exchange Programme with UK.

BUILDING BRIDGES

The school focuses on building character qualities in its students. A special communion towards this aim has been introduced called "Joining Hands" wherein the parents and the teachers collectively undertake activities to make the children aware and consciously  practice values like honesty, patience, compassion, discipline, responsibility etc.

The students on their part have conducted several social awareness drive across the city on issues like 'Pollution', 'Health and Hygiene', 'Save Water' etc.

The school helped in the relief and rehabilitation of earth quake victims of Gujarat, constructed a school at Bhuj and has now brought smiles on the faces of the mentally challenged by filling their surroundings with a "kaleidoscope of colours".

ACADEMICS

The educational system of the school is so designed as to provide ample opportunities for the child to achieve his/her potential and strive for excellence. A comfortable student teacher ratio creates a positive environment and a personalised interaction between them. We follow the system of continuous assessment, which relieves the students of the stress that the traditional examination system invariably causes. The school keeps an open mind by adopting educational patterns from abroad and other Indian schools.

SCIENCE LABORATORY

The school provides well equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, where the children perform experiments to substantiate their learning.

LIBRARY

The spirit of enquiry is generated in the students by encouraging them to use the well-stocked library. The library is equipped with books, CD's on every subject, multiple sets of encyclopedias and round the clock internet from which the children do extensive research for their projects.

FOOD COURT

School has made mandatory for the students to bring nutritious and healthy tiffins. They are provided with mineral drinking water in the school. The children are taught to prepare quick, healthy snacks for themselves. They are also taught table manners and use of cutlery as a part of their overall personality development.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The school has its own website, which was launched on 30th September, 2000.

The site offers information about the school, the staff, various activities which are held in school, online practice lessons and result of regular examinations. During the difficult days  following the earthquake the students of St. Kabir were kept abreast  with studies through the site.

The school is equipped with the latest state-of-art computer lab including facilities like multi-media and internet, which compliments the I.T. curriculum followed in the syllabus. To make the topics which are to be taught more interesting, the teachers use audio visual aids. The school also has a very modern audio-visual room fitted will OHP, with a seating capacity of over 100, where regular counseling and training sessions are held.

We at St. Kabir strive to make our students academically superior, technologically confident and trained in Safety and First Aid, as we want them to be at the frontiers of this changing technocratic world.

                                       SPORTS

Believing that 'a healthy mind can reside only in a healthy body', St. Kabir School takes special care in garnering the spirit of sportsmanship among the students by training them in different sporting events such as Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-kho and different kinds of Drills.

The school has its Cricket and Basketball teams. It also has a proud sporting line up at the national level in different sports.

                               THE PRE-PRIMARY SECTION

The school has a separate section for Tiny Tots who are welcomed into the warm cocoon of elementary school life by our gentle, motherly, affectionate, trained Teachers, who strive to make a home away from home for the toddlers.

Various activities are planned for them throughout the year, which includes Hindi and English Recitation, Dance, Puppet shows, Art and Craft work which make the children over come stage fears and become confident.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Various extra curricular activities are organised through out the year, which gives the students an opening  to explore and fine-tune his/her artistic talents.

Occasions like Navratri, Diwali, Janamashtami, Christmas, Pateti, Independence Day. Teacher's Day, Republic Day etc. are celebrated in school to help the children understand the significance of such festivals.

We have a system wherein all students are divided into four houses named after precious gems ie. RUBY, SAPPHIRE, EMERALD and TOPAZ. The house serves as a platform for fostering teamwork, leadership and a sense of healthy competition amongst the students. The children zealously compete to put their respective houses on top in various in-house activities.

Competitions such as Drawing and Painting, Craft work, Debates, Dramatics, Dancing and Quizzing help the children to realise their creative potential and instill confidence in them. In Quizzing our children have made their mark at the National Level, competing with the best in the country.

KABIR JYOTI

The School magazine serves as the forum for free and honest expression and exhibition of the thoughts and experiences of our young, budding writers. Interesting article of the students finds its place in the magazine which is compiled and edited by the children themselves.
